Inspired by the "rural myth" story of stumbling across a priceless low mileage antique car buried in an abandoned barn, I conducted my own search and struck gold. My great finds were not the adult sized classics but the miniature half-pint pedal cars popular in my youth.

Most of the pedal cars I found were stripped; no steering wheels, no tires, and worst of all, no pedals. To animate these little autos again I have given them dashboards, steering wheels and drivetrains using #100 stoneware clay from the Laguna Clay Company.
